The BBC Finance team in Cardiff delivers an integrated, sustainable and high quality accounting and reporting service to our business and Finance customers across the whole of the BBC.


We are seeking to recruit an Accountant  to join our team. This is a twelve month fixed term opportunity within the Studios UK Productions FP&A team based in Cardiff with hybrid working.


The Studios UK Productions division supports the UK production arm of the BBC commercial subsidiary, BBC Studios, and is therefore is at the heart of the BBC’s offering to its audiences. The responsibilities of the two available roles will support specific genres through providing management accounts, group reporting and working closely with production accounting and other key stakeholders. 

Main Responsibilities

As an Accountant you will:

Undertake the monthly reporting of financial performance, including variance analysis, in addition to other reporting to stakeholders Provide insightful and relevant analysis, suitable for driving effective and decisive decision making to support the delivery of our strategic priorities Take responsibility of month end and annual accounting processes, including liaison with the external auditors, managing this from start to end and working with a range of stakeholders Provide professional financial support to a range of stakeholders, maintain and supporting effective financial controls/processes and delivering operational excellence. Own and manage the delivery of the annual budget process Demonstrate excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work collaboratively in a team

Are you the right candidate?

You will have strong analytical skills and be fully qualified with a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA). Financial Reporting, Production Accounting and/or management accounting knowledge and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, both within Finance Central and with the other divisions is especially important in this role. You will be required to operate independently but effective team playing is also important due to the nature and size of the Finance team.
