Canterbury, United Kingdom Porchlight Full time

We’re looking for someone to lead and develop our volunteering service, ensuring that Porchlight’s volunteers have the opportunity to develop their skills, share their knowledge and continue to make a difference to people’s lives.

You will report to the Director of HR and oversee all aspects of the service. We are about to commence a review of the service to ensure it aligns strategically with all aspects of the charity, linking closely to the work we are doing to develop our new strategic plan. You will therefore be involved in reviewing and developing this evolving service, giving you an opportunity to help shape the service going forward.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety of our volunteers, staff and those we support, recruiting suitable volunteers, growing their skills and ensuring our volunteers are adequately supported. You will ensure that Porchlight is legally compliant with legislation, and you’ll also make sure that we’re championing equality, diversity and inclusion.

Because our HR and volunteering team is a small one, you will need to be hands-on and get involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the service.

This role requires:

A relevant qualification in management at level 5 or above or commitment to work towards this. Excellent knowledge of volunteer legislation and a proven track record in leading and managing a diverse volunteer service. Experience of managing and leading fast-paced volunteer recruitment. Experience of delivering training. Strong management, communication and influencing skills
