Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottingham Trent University Full time

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for the preparation, facilitation, and delivery of workshops appropriate for university students, and the facilitation of drop-in and 1-1 academic skills appointments and support sessions, including maths and statistics. Part of your time will also be spent sourcing and creating resources, including interactive learning materials and online tutorials appropriate to HE students, with an expectation that you will also contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the support provision and implement improvements where necessary. In addition, you will contribute to the promotion of the service through presentations, networking and, as part of a team, developing marketing materials suitable for both staff and students. The Academic Engagement Team: Learning and Teaching includes a small team of Student Mentors and you will be expected to contribute to their training, development and support.

What you’ll bring

You will have a good understanding of the pedagogical issues associated with learning, teaching and supporting learners and of ways of facilitating both workshop type learning and one-to-one sessions for learners. You will be highly organised, capable of working independently with the ability to write instructional materials in a clear accessible manner. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal communication including listening and problem-solving skills, excellent IT skills and have the ability to reflect upon and learn from own experiences.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile.
