South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.
We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 359 beds and have just added a further 55 beds to our portfolio with the opening of a new Nursing home in central Worthing, called The Poets. The Commis Chef role will operate here and within the adjacent Home called Berkeley Lodge.
Each of our registered homes offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.
Reporting into our Head Chef, this role involves delivering outstanding quality home cooked, nutritious food dishes for our residents at Abundant Grace.
To give some idea of scale, this could be up to 67 covers / day.
Recognising the key importance of mealtimes in a care home setting, the Commis Chef will be helping to deliver consistently high-quality menu choices across a 7-day window
Hours - 30hrs per week
Job responsibilities:
Preparing, cook and present high quality dishes Assisting the Head Chef in creating menu items To assist management with Health and safety To adhere to requirements of accurate record keeping To monitor and record portion and waste controlsWe are looking for someone who is:
