As a Team Lead, Backend Engineer at Via, you’ll lead a team of developers in our core R&D center. You’ll play a critical role in designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting in a cutting-edge environment. Within Via’s infrastructure, you’ll focus on building optimized, scalable and innovative designs.

What You'll Do:

Inspire, manage, and lead developers by setting a clear vision and roadmapBe responsible for implementing microservices from design to production.Take ownership of development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, and operations.Lead and participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, and deployment.Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features / componentsEnsuring application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application designLead, manage, and grow high-caliber backend engineering teamsResearch and suggest new technologies for boosting the productHave an impact on product development by making important technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices and more

Who You Are:

Minimum of 5 years of backend development and databases experienceMinimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Python, C++, and Java, or C#Solid programming foundations: data-structures, multi-threading, OOP and design patternsProven record of developing and scaling products that are highly available, distributed, and large scaleExperience with SQL/MySQL and in low level performance optimizations, including profiling and memory analysisExpertise with cloud platforms: AWS, KubernetesClear communication (written and verbal) is crucial to our success. You should be able to formulate your ideas concisely, and communicate complex information succinctly. Minimum of 1 year experience leading a teamAbility to drive work forward independently in a cross-functional, geographically distributed team environment
