We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Consultant Psychiatrist (CAMHS Eating Disorders) in Schoen Clinic Chelsea.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of the service, providing clinical expertise in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team we have on site. You will be responsible for the psychiatric and medical management of outpatient and day case patients assessed and treated in the clinic. Our growing team consists of consultant psychiatrists, psychologist, councillors and psychotherapists and you will be supported by the Clinic Director (operational and line management support) and Medical Director (professional support).

Schoen Clinic Chelsea is nestled in a discreet location in the heart of Chelsea, London treating patients 11 years+ with eating disorders and adults (18 years +) with anxiety and mood disorders such as depression, OCD and panic disorders. The clinicis bright and modern with 6 consulting rooms, 3 group therapy rooms, a large patient lounge, a relaxation area and a fully-fitted, modern training kitchen to help rehabilitate patients with eating disorders.
Job description
Job responsibilities
Principal Duties
Medical and psychiatric assessment of patients including eating disorder and non-eating disorder psychopathology
Treating and monitoring of psychiatric aspects of eating disorders, including core psychopathology and psychiatric co-morbidities, such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, borderline personality disorder and autistic spectrum disorders
Formulation of complex cases with medical and psychiatric needs
Attend clinical MDT meetings as well as take part in MDT discussions around high-risk patients
Participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding the most appropriate treatment settings for patients
Implementation of Schoen Clinic or national guidelines
Work together with clinical and operational colleagues to oversee the team's overall clinical performance
Work closely with clinical and managerial leaders to improve and develop services.

Essential
Specialist registration with the General Medical Council and a license to practice as a consultant psychiatrist in CAMHS CAMHS Eating Disorder experience

MRCPsych or equivalent

Registration for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and in good standing Knowledge of psychopharmacology as applied to eating disorders Knowledge of the physical and nutritional complications of eating disorders and their management High degree of self-awareness and ability to reflect on own emotional responses to patients Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Minimum of one years experience of eating disorders as a higher trainee or equivalent Experience of a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches used in the treatment of eating disorders Experience of the management of refeeding in severely underweight patients

Training in one or more psycho-therapeutic modality used in the treatment of eating disorders Experience of research and/or teaching Relevant publications
