Job Description

As we join the Danaher Corporation family, we have a new role as an Assistant Tax Manager to support Abcam’s Group Tax Manager with tax compliance and tax reporting projects. It will be focused on corporation tax in the UK but will also have the opportunity to be part of tax projects across the business and across the globe.

This is an exciting role for an tax professional in practice looking for their first step into a commercial environment or a finance professional with some experience in corporation tax and looking to develop further. The role will develop your experience in corporate taxes and international taxation

Primary accountabilities:

Prepares the UK Corporation Tax returns and assists the Group Tax Manager in the preparation of UK research and development tax credit claims Works with external advisors to prepare overseas Corporate Tax returns Prepares the quarterly tax provision, including return to provision true-ups Updates forecasts of cash tax payments needing to be made and ensures that the payments that are required are made on time Assists the Group Tax Manager with responses to tax authority audits Prepares and maintains transfer pricing documentation Keep abreast of tax developments in the territories in which we operate and advises of issues that impacts the business Assists the Group Tax Manager and Director of Tax and hoc projects

Qualifications

You will be at least ATT qualified or be working towards a recognised accountancy or tax qualification and have experience of UK Corporation Tax, either in a specialist role or as part of a broader finance role. You could currently be in practice and looking for your first move into a commercial role. You are comfortable using ERP systems, such as Oracle with the ability to work efficiently as part of a team and on your own initiative. You have an enquiring mind with the ability and confidence to identify problems and propose potential solutions along with a passion for continuous improvement and the ability to manage time and concurrent project to deliver high quality work.
