Job description

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen within North Somerset Childrens Centres for a Caretaker, based at Ashcombe Childrens Centre, in Weston Super Mare.

Are you the person we are looking for?

Are you the person that could help us supervise building services for the Centre to meet the defined standards, and qualities essential for a hygienic and safe environment? Could you also undertake designated cleaning and/or maintenance duties and manage stock? Would you be able to manage safety checks, fire drills, assist with risk assessments, and contribute to the management of the security and wellbeing of the Centre?

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

You may have to travel to other Children Centres in Weston at times, to complete essential maintenance . This is a permanent position for 20 hours per week. 

About you

You will need to have knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations. Some previous cleaning experience is desirable. Has some previous experience with fixing and maintaining equipment Experience of overseeing other staff or agencies Ability to work with limited supervision. Training in COSHH (controlled substances hazardous to heath) and other safety training must be undertaken during initial period of employment. Have basic ICT skills. Flexibility to work out of normal working hours. Good communication skills
