We are looking for a  Full Time Transport Shift Manager  to join our team in  Carlisle.

As a  Transport Shift Manager , you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day-to-day transport operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Transport Operation Manager with a variety of tasks that add value to the operation.

Role details:

Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours Per Week
Working pattern: Wednesday to Saturday 8.00am to 6.00pm
Location: Carlisle, CA1 3NQ

What you’ll do:

Your key accountabilities will include:

The role is responsible for overseeing a team of drivers from a nightly performance perspective to drive performance KPIs and having a clear operational plan to reduce cost, improve service etc. You will oversee the fleet management, maintenance and associated administration as well as investigating any service or operational failures to understand and prevent in the future Maintaining a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency and subcontractors Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well-being meetings &121s process, including disciplinaries, grievances and investigations within the transport department Ensuring effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's

Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry A background operating at a management level is a must Transport CPC – desirable  A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas Excellent team management skill for developing you team An analytical mind-set Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future You'll come in to contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial
