We have an opportunity for a Senior HR Business Partner (SHRBP) to support our operations business.  

 

You will partner with assigned business managers primarily in the London region to deliver the HR strategy and locally driven HR initiatives designed to improve productivity, deliver cost reduction, increase capability/performance levels and enhance employee engagement. 
 

Building and maintaining effective working relationships within your assigned business area to become a trusted advisor and providing the ‘voice of the customer’ back to the specialist HR teams (talent acquisition, reward, development, operations) to ensure the tools, frameworks, policies and service levels meet the requirements of the assigned business areas. 

 

Role responsibilities will include: 

  • Coach and build the capability of managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues, cultivating a culture of line manager responsibility and accountability. 

  • Provide expert input across the full range of HR issues for the assigned business area; acting as the point of contact and subject matter expert. Providing business partnering support to the relevant Operations Director and their site leadership teams. 

  • Support the design and implementation of HR transformation and change programmes for assigned business area, including restructuring, collective consultation, variation of contracts and TUPE transfer. 

  • Understand and anticipate the need for continuous improvement in our people practices, diagnose underlying issues and make the case for change with business leaders. 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, including SLT, managers, employees, trade union representatives (as appropriate) and external clients. 

  • Make data-driven decisions by leveraging people analytics to identify trends, anticipate needs, and deliver impactful solutions. 

  • Participate in relevant projects, leading and championing requirements of individual teams and/or HR. 

  • Be an ambassador for the HR function and people agenda.  

 

This hybrid role will be based in our award-winning offices near London Bridge and Cannon Street stations with regular travel to our university sites. 

 

We are looking for you to have already be working in an HRBP role within a similar multi-site operational environment with a strong HR generalist background and employee relations case management experience. You need to have a solid understanding of the full HR lifecycle, current UK employment legislation, HR policies and best practice. 

 

You will have exceptional communication skills and the credibility to influence at all levels, offering high support, high challenge and acting as a ‘critical friend’. 

 

Alongside this, you will have a customer first approach, demonstrating resilience, problem solving and critical thinking skills with a passion for service/process improvement. 

 

You will also be able to work at pace, supporting at a strategic level whilst providing hands on support to the site operational teams when needed.
