Job summary

A position has arisen for anAssistant Food Production Manager (Retail) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The position will be based at City Hospital but candidates will be expected to work / travel cross campus a from time to time. Working hours are hours per week, Mon - Fri.

Under the direction of the Food Production Manager, the post holder is responsible for planning/administering and delivering all phases of the Trust's Food Production requirements from the Central Food Production Unit to ensure the needs and preferences are met for patient, visitors and staff.

Main duties of the job

Amongst other responsibilities, the Assistant Food production Manager will be responsible for Staff and Performance Management which includes, but is not limited to:

General staff management, including maintenance of high standards of performance and conduct in line with Trust procedures.

Recruitment and selection of staff and efficient staff deployment.

To ensure that all staff are trained to maintain safe standards of performance as per Trust Policies and Procedures and to ensure that adequate training records are kept.

To liaise with the CPU Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures where necessary to continually improve quality in all areas.

To ensure that health, safety and hygiene is maintained as per the Trust's policies and procedures.

To undertake service planning, monitoring and reporting.

To maintain high standards of service and customer care.

To compile monthly reports and information required by the CPU Manager.

To be responsible for the direct management control and organisation of staff and activities involved in the delivery of catering service.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

Understanding of a range of work procedures requiring expertise within a specialism underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience. Detailed knowledge of food safety and hygiene legislation and hazard analysis, critical control points.

Desirable

Knowledge of a range of procedures and practices relating to management of food procurement, food production, safety regulations and staff management acquired through to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge, experience or training.

Experience

Essential

Experience of managing high volume food production facilities.
