Your role:

You will own the Safety Risk Management implementation & compliance, embedding it seamlessly into our overall systems engineering workflow.

Assist with the “High Level” systems view of our product design (architecture and system requirements) and how it fits within a larger product portfolio, including ensuring proper allocation and ownership of requirements to the subsystem and component levels.

Work hand in hand with the program manager, product manager, and cross-functional leads to ensure the overall product/solution system integrity from product change concept to end-of-life of the product, including meeting all expectations from major stakeholders like manufacturing, quality, regulatory bodies, and reliability in addition to customers and patients.

Coordinates with User Interface, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Operations, and V&V teams.

Leads and participates in design reviews, including reviews of design inputs and outputs and advising on change requests for system and related products.

This role offers you chance for hybrid working from our vibrant & exciting new offices in Farnborough, Hampshire.

From performance bonus to family friendly policies, flexible benefits and access to Philips University, a career at Philips comes with all sorts of wonderful benefits. Be sure to speak to your recruiter about all the benefits on offer.

You’re right for this role if:

Your experience is gained in a regulated industry (ideally medical device but would also consider Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Automotive, or Defense) and with extensive knowledge of safety risk management, including FMEA, design mitigations, and compliance to risk management standards.

Your knowledge includes regulations related to risk management and the development of safe hardware and software products including ISO14971 and ideally FDA Regulations 21CFR 820, EU MDR, IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, and IEC 62366-1

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

You can demonstrate strong results orientation: This position requires the proven ability to consistently meet and/or exceed goals. The successful candidate must be capable of making commitments, setting priorities, and delivering results on time and on budget.

You are a strong communicator, able to develop & maintain technical and non-technical relationships and develop trust quickly.

If you’re interested in this role and have many, but not all, of the experiences needed, we encourage you to apply. You may still be the right candidate for this or other opportunities at Philips. Learn more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion .
