Brief Description

Are you passionate about making our railways safer for everyone? We're looking for a dynamic individual to take the lead on developing and implementing strategies to prevent and reduce crime, suicide, and trespass. Your role will be crucial in delivering our regional strategy and ensuring that our plans align with national efforts to reduce crime and improve safety.

You'll work closely with the British Transport Police and other agencies to coordinate the deployment of measures aimed at mitigating these issues. Your ability to create robust and measurable performance improvement plans will be essential in driving positive change.

About the role (External)

Here are some of the duties your role will include: -

·Drive Positive Change: Lead the implementation of improvement schemes aimed at reducing external delays, aligning with our regional route crime reduction strategy. You'll be at the forefront of making our railways safer and more efficient.

·Foster Collaboration: Work closely with route teams, industry partners and stakeholders to deliver tangible improvements in external delay categories. Your ability to influence and coordinate will be instrumental in achieving our goals.

·Build Relationships and Measure Impact: Forge strong relationships with internal and external partners, gaining insights into performance improvement activities and measuring their effectiveness. Your advice and guidance will shape our priorities for enhancing railway safety.

·Expert Guidance for Safety: Provide expert advice on suicide and trespass prevention, driving continuous improvement across the rail industry. Your leadership will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and the development of effective crime reduction plans, ensuring a safer environment for all.

What you will bring to the role: -

·Excellent negotiation skills and influencing.

·Educated to degree level or be able to show equivalent level of experience and competency.

·Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing plans and strategies that provide tangible safety or asset management improvement.

·Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex data in a simple and understandable way.

It’s desirable if you have it to help give you context to the role: -

·Good understanding of crime issues as they affect Network Rail’s undertakings.

·Good understanding of railway operational requirements

·Ability to work with organisations outside the rail industry.

·An understanding of partnership working with not-for-profit organisations.

·Budgetary management
