Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part-time administrator to join the children and young people's safeguarding team at St George's Hospital on a fixed term basis for one year.

The safeguarding team work closely with professionals within the hospital, along with partners in the police, social services, education and community health to keep children safe from harm and ensure they reach their full potential.

We are seeking a motivated, efficient and compassionate professional to join our team and contribute to the effective safeguarding of our service users.

Main duties of the job

You will work alongside the team secretaries/administrators to ensure that information we receive regarding children is shared efficiently and effectively with our community partners. You will play a key role in processing external information regarding missing children, and children known to social services, alerting professionals within the hospital to children where there is a safeguarding concern via our flagging system.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

Educated to GCSE/NVQ standard or equivalent Able to demonstrate excellent use of English Language/Grammar both verbally and in writing Competent use of Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, Excel and able to type accurately Safeguarding Children Level 1 Safeguarding Adults Level 1

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Clear understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection (GDPR) Able to manage sensitive written and verbal information Experience of healthcare record systems iClip/Cerner, Summary Care Records, London Care Records Experience in a customer or patient facing role dealing with queries from professionals or members of the public Administration/Clerical experience

Desirable

Experience of collecting and entering data Administration/clerical experience within a safeguarding team/team that works with children Experience of Oracle or similar procurement platform

Organisational Management

Essential

Self-motivated Flexible and adaptable to changeable acuity within workload Demonstrates caring and sensitive approach Team player Willingness to develop new skills and knowledge of systems and processes used within the Trust
