Lead Product Designer – Mortgages & Data Services

Location: London(Hybrid)

The role

We’re seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our Experience Design(XD) team, to create exceptional end-to-end, connected experiences that exceed user needs, drive business growth and make home moving easier and simpler.

Oversee design quality and outcomes in key growth areas; Mortgages and Data Services. Collaborate across teams and lead initiatives with a user-centered approach. Design seamless, relevant, inclusive and consistent experiences for the now, next and future. Lead, coach and mentor a team of Product Designers. Report to and work closely with the Head of Experience Design. Based in our Soho office 2 days a week and 3 days from home.

What you’ll be doing

Partner with the Head of Product, contribute to strategic decisions, aligned to business objectives and key results (OKRs), framing user and business problems with clear success metrics. Develop a deep understanding of the space, innovating next-generation products and services based on user behaviors, pain points and goals. Collaborate closely with User Research to conduct generative research for discovery, leverage insights and data to inform decisions and long-term planning.  Engage with Service Design to extend and connect user journeys to back-stage processes, contributing to research and journey repositories, identifying opportunities to enhance experiences. Provide a holistic view of the domain with insights and data, through sketching ideas, flows, and crafting high-fidelity designs and prototypes of the services, products and systems. Raise product design standards and adoption of the design system, promoting reuse and consistency with Brand and code. Champion inclusive and accessible digital experiences, collaborating with Engineering to uphold accessibility standards.

What you’ll bring to the role

Showcase a diverse portfolio demonstrating design thinking across B2C and B2B contexts. Demonstrate leadership skills in recruiting, onboarding and developing talented Product Designers, providing clear direction, support and continuous feedback. Communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders and peers, building trust and nurturing strong relationships. Display a passion for continuous learning and development, with a proactive approach to enhance ways of working and collaboration, contributing to design operations for XD. Demonstrate strategic thinking, balancing business objectives with user needs. Advocate for XD within Rightmove and participate in external industry events, staying up to date with trends and best practices.
