We have an excellent opportunity for you to come and join us to support children and young people with additional complex health needs within Glenmar (Residential House) and during the school day supporting our residents and pupils within Special Schools across Fife. This service is managed as part of the wider Children & Young People’s Community Nursing Service (CYPCNS).
We are looking to recruit flexible registered nurses who are committed to the provision of safe, effective child centred quality care. We work closely with all our partners across Health & Social care, 3rd Sector as well as Education.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, you will provide nursing care and support to children & young people with exceptional health care needs receiving care within our residential unit and other community locations. You will ensure high standards of care are delivered. This will be achieved by providing training and supervision to other nurses, healthcare support workers, education and social care staff and students in clinical skills relevant to children with exceptional healthcare needs. Alongside the Nurse Team Leader you will be involved in ensuring all aspects of the Child’s Plan are being met as well as supporting and supervising more junior members of staff in the day to day delivery of care.
You must be a registered nurse ideally with experience of working with children and young people within a community setting. Previous experience of working with children and young people with exceptional healthcare needs would be advantageous. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a multiagency team.
You will be given all appropriate training required to undertake this role and benefit from working alongside a team of knowledgeable, experienced staff and given the opportunity for ongoing professional development.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
Please note the salary scale for this post is pro rata for part time hours.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
