WHAT TO EXPECT

Data Privacy is a fast paced and dynamic area within the Automotive Industry. You will be an elemental part of the Product Engineering teams delivering JLR products in a compliant way.

The role of the Data Privacy Advisor is critical in ensuring that Product Engineering can demonstrate compliance with Data Privacy legislation and JLR internal privacy processes across all personal data-related product features for our vehicles as well as our internal business processes. This in turn is key to ensuring we retain our customers’ trust on all aspects of our operations and deliver a true Modern Luxury Experience.

You will act as a Subject Matter Expert for privacy processes within Product Engineering at JLR and will lead the completion of risk assessments.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Supporting and advising engineers completing the Privacy by Design and Default process and associated risk assessments across all areas of Product Engineering. Understanding and advising on the “Privacy by Design” design requirements. Identifying high risk processing and escalating as necessary. Supporting on the completion and maintenance of Data Protection Impact Assessment(s) owned by Product Engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Previous experience within a Data Protection compliance consultancy or junior privacy lawyer (2/3PQE) role. Enhanced knowledge of GDPR/Data Protection regulations and processes and demonstrable experience operationalising those requirements. Ability to understand, advise on and evaluate complex and technical data processing activities in Product Engineering. Experience of communicating and influencing to build strong networks and relationships, internally and externally.
