Commercial Manager

Position: Commercial Manager - Kier Transportation, Rail

Location: London, Manchester, or Northampton (Remote working available with occasional office travel)

Business Area: Kier Transportation, Rail

Contract: Full Time, Permanent (Flexible and part-time hours available)

What will your responsibilities be?:

As a Commercial Manager within the Kier Rail team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the commercial aspects of a variety of rail infrastructure projects for our diverse customer base. From major improvements to the construction of new stations, you will collaborate with specialist teams to manage complex works from conception through to delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing Commercial Strategy and Framework for the project(s) in alignment with the (Construction) Director/Commercial Director, and continuously monitoring its effectiveness.
  • Setting up, managing, and maintaining efficient systems for filing and retrieving information, ensuring compliance with group commercial standards.
  • Overseeing, and in some cases, managing hands-on all aspects of Subcontractor accounts, including full procurement processes.
  • Preparation or management of interim valuations and final accounts, along with management of change control processes.
  • Compiling and presenting accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and forecast reports, contributing to Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) packs, and presenting cash flow forecasts as required.

Requirements:

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Relevant qualifications at degree level or equivalent.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction or rail industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex commercial processes.
