English Graduate Cover Supervisor – Oldham Secondary Schools

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your teaching and leadership skills, with potential routes into a teaching career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising English lessons when teachers are absent, ensuring students complete pre-set tasks.
  • Managing classroom behaviour, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Supporting students with their English work, helping with reading, writing, and comprehension.
  • Working with the English department to ensure lesson continuity and student progress.
  • Encouraging a love of literature, language, and communication in the classroom.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Confident in managing classrooms and maintaining behaviour standards.
  • Passion for English and a desire to make a positive impact in students' education.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
