I am seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Drama to lead our Drama department in our 'Good' Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Hillingdon. The successful candidate will oversee the Drama curriculum, teach Drama to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and inspire a love of performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement the Drama curriculum, ensuring it meets national standards.
  • Mentor and support Drama teachers and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Drama department, implementing improvements as needed.
Teaching and Learning:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Drama lessons.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Encourage student participation in performances, workshops, and extracurricular activities.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
Extracurricular Activities:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Drama up to Key Stage 5.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting.
