Are you a passionate andcreative Tutor who thrives on working in a challenging yetrewarding environment inspiring young people to learn Do you haveexperience of working with KS3 and KS4 pupils Are you able toeasily nurture relationships with pupils and provide them with aplatform to learn and succeed

This role isworking with young people who face many challenges and have complexsupport needs and experience working with 1416yearolds isessential.

About therole

As our tutor you must have acan do attitude excellent communications skills and a nurturingapproach to join our team. You will easily engage with young peoplesupport their behaviour listening skills and encourage a positiveattitude towards learning. Experience working in a SEND settingparticularly students with ASD would be an advantage as well asexperience working in a PRU and an understanding of restorativepractice.

You will develop activities andresources to meet the need of learners liaise with the school leadto set targets and report on progress and behaviour. Supportingstudent resilience social emotional mental health and wellbeing isa key part of this role. Flexibility is essential for this role asno two days are the same. You will be joining a committed team whowant to make a real difference to the lives of young people.

Role andresponsibilities

  • Tolead the delivery of planned sessions through activities thatsupport student development across core subject including EnglishMaths and Science
  • To assist where necessarysupport those who need extra help by offering 1 to 1guidance.
  • To support the participationretention and progression of learners intheir
    sessions.
  • Liaise with otherstaff members effectively.
  • To attend and engagein all relevant staff meetings and maintaineffective
    communication with staff learners and otherrelevant organisations.
  • To undertake trainingand CPD as necessary and relevant to thepost.
  • To be familiar with the LMP Code ofConduct and all operational Health &
    Safety ChildProtection and Data Protection policies.
  • Duringtimes when nonattendance occurs you are expected to contribute tothe organisation. This may include creating templates or activitiesand saving them in the One Drive administrative tasks or any otherduties as requested by the Alternative Education IQA or AlternativeEducation Manager.
  • Manage studentattendance.
  • Reporting of any incidents to becompleted on the same day and sent to your
    linemanager.
  • To assess work of the learners andgive feedback to encourage participation.
  • Toensure sessions are engaging creative and in line with ourquality
    assuranceprocess.
Requirements

Educationand Experience

  • Teachingdegree/PGCE (working towards teachingqualification)
  • DBS
  • Drivinglicense
  • Experience of delivering core subjectsat K2 K3 K 4
  • Training and working in diversecommunity settings.
  • Experience of working withyoung people who are hard to engagewith
  • Experience of delivering training andworking in diverse communitysettings.
  • Experience of working with youngpeople who are hard to engagewith.
