We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Senior support worker to work within the Imaging directorate at Royal Preston Hospital and other hospital sites
Excellent patient care whilst technical procedures are carried out is the main priority of this post. The post will involve assisting Advanced Practitioners, radiographers and Consultants.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to be flexible in your attitude to work as there may be a requirement to work out of hours, at weekends and Bank holidays
You should hold an NVQ level 2 in Health care ( or equivalent) and be prepared to study for the INCS Level 3 qualification within 18 months of appointment.
You will also be expected to complete the Clinical skills Care Certificate as part of your induction unless already completed.
You will work closely with Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists to provide an smooth and efficient service. You will work in various imaging areas within the Trust as required including but not exclusively Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray and Ultrasound.

Duties to include, but not be limited to:
Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards Undertake duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies Assist to maintain patient safety, confirming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals Contribute to maintaining safe, clean and productive environments, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager Maintain and develop own competence Process information according to local and national requirementsAre you interested in a new challenge? we will offer a full induction, familiarisation and other development opportunities to the right individual.

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
GCSE in English and Mathematics – grade C/4 or above OR Level 2 Functional Literacy & Level 2 numeracy skills NVQ Level 2 Care or Equivalent (to work towards level 3 within 18 months of start date)
Desirable criteria
Basic IT skills NVQ Level 3 in care. Care Certificate
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality Able to demonstrate Health & Safety awareness Demonstrates an understanding of the role of a band 3 assistant. Evidence of working at Band 2/3 in a caring environment
Desirable criteria
