About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional to join our team and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of management accounts. In this role, you will interpret financial trends, explain key variances, and maintain robust financial controls. Your expertise will be crucial in reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing period-end controls, and leading quarterly stock reconciliations for our trading stores. As a Management Accountant - Food Retail, you will be responsible for: •Ensure accurate and timely management accounts are produced and circulated for the relevant division(s), with explanations of key variances and interpretation of financial trends.
•Be responsible for producing and maintaining effective and accurate policy, procedure and control documentation and ensuring that all financial transactions are processed in accordance with these agreed control documents.
•Reconcile balance sheet accounts, complete period-end control returns and ensure processes are robust and that any discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner. 
•Lead in the preparation and reconciliation of the quarterly stock reconciliations of all trading stores.
•Support the Finance Business Partner as required in the budget, forecasting and 3-year planning process 
•Support the preparation and submission of statutory year end and half year audit documentation.
•Assist the Senior Retail Accountant and the wider Finance team in the effective reporting to the Board, Executive, Leadership Team and external bodies as necessary

Who are we looking for?

To be a successful candidate for this role you will need: •Part qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
•Excellent command of written and spoken English
•Excellent IT skills including MS Excel
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management accounts role
