Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN TA Post 16 to join a vibrant co-educational school in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. As an SEN TA Post 16, you will play a crucial role in supporting and inspiring secondary students, helping them achieve their full potential.

 

As an SEN TA Post 16, you will:

  • Assist class teachers in conducting lessons and managing the classroom environment.
  • Support students with additional needs, such as SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
  • Follow the school’s behaviour management policy to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
  • Assist relevant subject teachers in handling student behaviour.
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.

As an SEN TA Post 16, you will require:

  • Previous experience in a SEN setting.
  • Willingness to provide support to students on a 1:1 basis or small groups upon requirement.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or youth work is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
