The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities subjects, which may include History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Citizenship, across Key Stages 3 and 4. They will be expected to deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Humanities curriculum and resources.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a Humanities-related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a reflective approach to teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for Humanities and a desire to inspire students.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching multiple Humanities subjects.
  • A postgraduate qualification in education or a Humanities discipline.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational technologies and their application in the classroom.
