Job summary

This post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

We are recruiting fortwo Health Records Clerks to be based in our Health Records Clerk Department in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. The posts are full time, working 37 1/2 hours per week

For this role, previous experience is not required, as on the job training will be provided. You will predominately begin your training in our Filing Library and then be exposed to other duties within the department.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will cover a range of duties (but not all) including;

Filing and retrieving of patient records, locating, and providing patient records for all outpatient appointments, planned admissions and day case attendances. Preparation of patient records for outpatient/inpatient attendances Operation of a computerised patients administration system, including inputting and retrieval of data Dealing with telephone queries Scanning of patient records to support the Medical Examiners Service

A flexible approach to the needs of the service is required and to undertake additional duties as and when required. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is vital.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.
