Job overview

We are looking to recruit a treatment planning Dosimetrist, Clinical Technologist or Therapeutic Radiographer, to come and join our friendly team here at The Dorset Cancer Centre, Poole Hospital. The team provides the treatment planning service for Poole Hospital and the Dorchester satellite centre. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of treatment planning, checking and brachytherapy, and will be based at Poole Hospital. The radiotherapy department at the Dorset Cancer Centre at Poole Hospital has three linear accelerators (Varian Truebeams), with a fourth Truebeam situated at our satellite centre in Dorchester. All planning is based at Poole. In addition to this we have two Philips CT scanners and an Xstrahl orthovoltage unit. Treatment planning is performed using Eclipse, with Mosaiq as the record & verify system. Brachytherapy has its own dedicated suite where our I seed service is performed using the Bard quicklink system & Variseed. Our HDR service for gynaecological cancers is planned using Oncentra Masterplan and prostate HDR is planned using Oncentra prostate. Both HDR treatments are delivered using a Flexitron unit.This role requires registration as a Radiographer with the Health Profession Council or a Member of the Register of TechnologistsAdditional contact information Head of Radiotherapy Physics: Head of Treatment Planning: Base Location: Poole Hospital Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of treatment planning, including the SABR lung & oligomet services. Application-specific training will be provided for the Eclipse treatment planning system & Mosaiq R&V as required. They will also be expected to undertake treatment plan checking and, as service delivery requires, involvement in the brachytherapy service. Detailed job description and main responsibilities You will work as part of a team of staff and assist in the provision of the high quality ISO accredited radiotherapy service. To undertake external beam treatment planning and checking, and brachytherapy planning, as part of a multi-disciplinary team using various software packages.
