FNP Supervisor - Secondment Opportunity for 6 months

A 6-month secondment opportunity from November 2023 has arisen for an experienced Family Nurse to join the Hounslow team as Supervisor.

Main duties of the job

A 6-month secondment opportunity from Oct 2023 (approx.) (with possibility for extension) has arisen for an experienced Family Nurse to be seconded into the role of Family Nurse Supervisor in Hounslow.

Hounslow FNP has been established for 11 years. The Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the work of the family nurses and Quality Support Officer. This includes providing in-depth clinical and safeguarding supervision to the family nurses, maintaining the integrity of the programme, taking responsibility for the quality of programme replication according to the licence, overseeing recruitment and engagement of hard-to-reach families, building local stakeholder relationships and facilitating continual learning and service improvement. In addition, they will also hold a small caseload of families to whom they deliver the programme.

This is a demanding role combining clinical practice with a team leader and supervisory role, which requires a diverse set of skills and attributes as well as commitment to the ethos and principles of the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme.

Full supervisor training will be provided by the National Unit. The first of which is residential, and it is essential that the successful candidate can attend this in November 2023.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. To manage a team of family nurses (FNs) and the site Quality Support Officer.
2. To take responsibility for programme quality and adherence to the FNP licensing conditions.
3. To facilitate continual learning and service improvement, planning for and ensuring a local learning programme for each FN, to meet their own identified learning needs and to facilitate the team based elements of the FNP learning programme.

Nursing or Midwifery NMC registered Trained Family Nurse Degree level or equivalent professional qualification Masters level education

Working with deprived communities for more than 2 years Supervision of other practitoners Leading a team At least 2 years’ experience of midwifery, child health, public health, home visiting. Managing others
