Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialised ASC Primary School in Poole. This school caters for students who are primary aged, 5-11 year olds, all pupils have a diagnosis of Autism and have also been excluded from school or have challenging behaviours.  

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join us from September on a full time basis. This will start as a temporary role through our trusted recruitment partner and will become a permanent position.

Location: Poole

Salary: £12.90 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively
  • Support our primary pupils to engage positively with education 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or Autism is desirable
  • You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
  • Strong understanding of SEMH or SEN and its impact on learning and behavior
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
