GSL Education Cramlington, Northumberland seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join our client schools in Cramlington, Northumberland.
Job Summary: As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students' understanding of the world around them, fostering a love for history, geography, and social studies. You will have the opportunity to bring your passion for Humanities to life, making learning engaging and meaningful for your students.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across the Humanities curriculum, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
- Plan, prepare, and assess students' work to ensure progress and attainment.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and support students' academic and personal development, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices, contributing to the overall success of the Humanities department.
- Participate in school activities, events, and parent meetings to build strong relationships within the school community.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Humanities curriculum and educational best practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Humanities subjects.
- Proven experience as a Humanities Teacher at the secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
