Job overview

I’m James, the current Springbank Ward Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). I have loved being the CNS for this exceptional ward. Having spent the last years here and I am leaving for a development opportunity in a higher education setting.

Springbank, based on our Fulbourn Hospital site in Cambridge, is a -bed inpatient recovery unit for women with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD) who are struggling to cope with the demands of life outside the hospital, despite input from community psychiatric services.

I have loved my time on Springbank, the team are exceptional, and the role is integral to maintaining the delivery of high-quality care and treatment on the ward. We are a remarkable ward with income generating capacity, allowing for ample development opportunities for our staff. I have personally undertaken a significant amount of training whilst in post, for example I have completed leadership training, professional nurse advocate training, DBT foundation and emotional regulation training.

If you are interested in working with service users with a BPD diagnosis, have a love of teaching and training and want to retain a clinical facing role then this is the ideal post for you. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining us on our journey.
