Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Management Accountant to join the Management Accounts Team, part of the DBTH Finance Department.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of monthly Management Accounts information to internal stakeholders and providing a high quality Management Accounts service to the Trust.

The role will be an integral part of the Management Accounts Team providing a reliable and responsive Management Accounts service to ensure the provision of high quality financial advice and information to a variety of staff within the Trust, and at different levels.

This role offers a variety of experience within the Finance Department and is an ideal development opportunity for someone looking to undertake their professional qualifications.

You will be a highly motivated individual, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload, who is fully or part qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant. We will consider applications from the professionals who are 'qualified by experience'. This means that if you are capable of demonstrating high level of knowledge and skills in the finance field and have a good proven track record of working in Management Accounts we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of monthly Management Accounts information to internal stakeholders and providing a high quality Management Accounts service to the Trust.

The role will be an integral part of the Management Accounts Team providing a reliable and responsive Management Accounts service to ensure the provision of high quality financial advice and information to a variety of staff within the Trust, and at different levels.

You will be a highly motivated individual, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload as well as supervise a small number of junior finance colleagues.

Essential

CCAB Accounting Body/Finalist/Qualified by experience.

Desirable

Good level of general education

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Minimum of two years experience in management accounting work. Experience of a large complex public organisation along with an understanding of the operational aspects of the organisation. IT literate

Desirable

Working experience in an Acute NHS Trust. Working knowledge of Oracle computerised accounting system Supervision of staff

Personal Attributes & Skills

Essential

Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing. This includes staff in other departments, such as budget holders, as well as colleagues within the department. Needs to be dynamic and, in addition to providing financial support to the directorates, needs to be able to participate in the discussion of ideas and plans.

Organisational Skills

Essential

Analyse, interpret and report upon financial and non-financial information. Apply technical knowledge. Assist in the development of junior staff. Organise demanding workload with competing priorities in order to achieve deadlines.

Desirable

Be innovative with strong fact finding and problem solving skills. To effectively challenge systems, processes, business cases etc. in order to ensure use of resources are maximised. Think wider than just finance
