A highly reputable secondary school in East Sussex is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join their permanent staff list starting in September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated educator to become part of a dynamic and supportive academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
  • Plan and prepare engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and uphold the school’s behaviour policies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the science curriculum.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.
  • Support extra-curricular science activities and initiatives within the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a science-related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching science at the secondary school level.
  • Strong understanding of the UK national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience teaching multiple science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to contribute to whole-school initiatives and extra-curricular activities.
