DescriptionAt Samsung Cambridge Solution Centre, we develop world-leading Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity chips that are utilised in millions of devices worldwide.  

We are looking for a Graduate to join our System Test team on 09 September 2024.  We test at a system level, normally using Android platforms to exercise the firmware, drivers and host code written by our developers.  Your role will involve testing, test automation, debugging of software and customer support. You will need to have good scripting ability (preferably python, XML), software development and test exposure. You will be someone who is investigative, with a keen attention to detail, able to communicate well, look for innovative ways to solve problems and are able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment. 
Key ResponsibilitiesYour main responsibilities will include:
  • Test software to agreed timescales
  • Develop, test and maintain software test scripts and automated analysis tools
  • Maintain and support software test equipment and systems
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation
  • Execute tests and provide timely analysis and feedback on test results
  • Perform triaging and raise defect reports
  • Provide logs and other relevant data to support debugging
  • Working with customers to understand, reproduce and debug 

Skills and ExperienceSkills and experience that you'll need: 
  • Degree in a relevant technical subject such as maths/science/software/electronics
  • Proven ability with python
  • Good understanding of software test methods
  • Good understanding of software debugging
  • Effective team player
  • Good communicator
  • Good problem solving ability

It would be useful if you had:
  • Knowledge of software development, use of version control, continuous integration and issue tracking tools such as GIT, Jenkins and JIRA
  • Networking knowledge
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
  • Android and Linux knowledge
  • Competent using laboratory equipment such as spectrum analysers, power meters, etc.
  • Experience in working in a customer support role
