Senior UX Writer & Content Designer

Location: London
Length: 6 Months
Rate: £43.27 p/h PAYE (Approx. £90K per annum)  
Hours: 9am – 6pm

This client is a top 5 tech giant and one of the world's most popular search engines.
This is a hybrid role, so you will split your time between home office and the clients offices in central London. On-site you will be able to access their amazing facilities and quirky working spaces, as well as free breakfast/ lunch/ dinner, on-site gyms, outdoor spaces and roof gardens, wellness rooms and sleep pods.
Job description:

Own outcomes for one mature project, complex program, or emerging area. Drive positive change by defining a scalable, user-centered approach to solve difficult problems. Influence by guiding the momentum of related efforts. Apply your expertise by serving as a subject-matter expert in ux writing, content design, ux principles, user-centered product development methodologies, and research tools. Collaborate with others to deliver work such as: audits that analyze and identify opportunities to create ux writing and content solutions that increase product value; machine learning heuristics to scale product quality; writing and information design patterns across user experiences; product narratives that successfully guide the user through and within the product. Lead alignment efforts across teams or products to create cohesion. When proposing solutions, you may start with language, but look beyond words to influence design holistically. Proven ability to design products and deliver cohesive ux writing and content solutions for key parts of the product, platform, or user experience; and possess the depth of knowledge, experience, and business acumen required to assess and communicate rationale for your choices in terms of quality, longevity, and scalability; Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional peers across the organization.

Define and drive the future of product experiences. Shape product strategy and design end-to-end user experiences through your expertise in ux writing and content design. Approach experiences holistically, through information architecture, frameworks, voice and tone, and guidelines that scale quality writing, content, and design. Apply ux methods to all elements of product design, with a focus on clarity, coherence, quality, accessibility, and global relevance. Use audits, research insights, and/or analysis to identify opportunities to significantly improve the user’s experience. Influence product vision by contributing to a product narrative. Propose design solutions that are rooted in UX writing and content design, but influence design holistically. Define, evolve, and uphold design standards, such as writing guidelines or voice and tone principles.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of the overall process for developing products. This includes knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of engineering and other functions, major phases, checkpoints, and deliverables. This also includes the ability to identify common issues and considerations for delivering a product.
  • Ability to influence and inspire an audience by crafting stories using data that elicit empathy or create buy-in.
  • Ability to craft intuitive user-facing language, effective information hierarchy, and scalable frameworks that appeal to and guide a diverse global audience while also adapting to the needs, voice, tone, and constraints of the product at hand.
  • Ability to define, design, and create content-focused user experiences, such as frameworks and patterns that help content scale, ensure quality, and deliver information for specific user needs and markets.
  • Ability to contextually structure, organize, and disclose information in a way that helps users navigate through a complex task or discover the information they are looking for.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for defining and measuring UX, and the ability to adapt UX research methods to the appropriate user interface and platform.
  • Ability to analyze situations or problems at the system level or from a broader technical or organizational perspective. This includes the ability to consider how factors or components in a system interrelate and work over time within the context of larger systems.
  • Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes. This includes the ability to use data to add value to business planning and strategies.

    Core Responsibilities:
  • Analyze or anticipate user needs, pain points, or gaps in comprehension and collaborate with others to solve constraints in strategy, product, or technology.
  • Use and propose key data and metrics to evaluate product impact, such as user engagement, comprehension, and task completion. Understand the product ecosystem, user trends, and industry (e.g., competitors), taking them into account when developing principles, patterns, and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product managers, team members and other cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., marketing, legal, engineering) to align and communicate for and communicate a product narrative, vision, mission, or principles.
  • Build consensus and gain support for high-quality user experiences by anticipating challenges and questions and communicating principled and well-reasoned or data-driven UX writing and content design choices. Understand and advocate for all aspects of UX (UXW, UXD, UXR, UXE, UX P&OPgM) as essential to the product lifecycle.
  • Establish and improve holistic UX writing and content design processes, systems, frameworks or patterns across teams or products. Develop and generate support for a design vision with partners, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Apply, adapt, or evolve UX writing and content design frameworks for user experiences, including principles, patterns, and systems. Leverage writing and design tools to visualize ideas or develop mock-ups. Tailor deliverables to product or platform requirements.
