Job summary

Here at Alnwick Medical Groupwe have a team of approximately 80 members of staff working across our 4 sites,12 of which are our reception team.

Due to internal progression an exciting new jobopportunity for a Receptionist has become available. We are looking for a friendly, flexible and proactive person to come andjoin us full time (37 hours per week).

The successful candidate willbe required to work between the hours of - Monday - Friday.

Main duties of the job

Greetpatients and visitors to the practice

Bookin, amend and cancel patient appointments

Receiveand accurately record requests for home visits

Processand distribute eConsult requests from patients

Ensurethe clinicians workload is evenly distributed

Respondor redirect patients to most appropriate care provider if necessary

Set-up of new patients onto the computer system

Advise patients of relevant charges for privateservices, accept payment and issue receipts for same

Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neatand tidy

Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring callsare documented and redirected accordingly

Undertake administration tasks as allocated on rotaorganised by the Reception Manager

Action start and end of day procedures

Check & respond to emails

To carry out any otherreasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the gradingand level of responsibility of the post
