We are looking for a Marketing & Client Development Coordinator to join our team on a temporary contract. We are a friendly team committed to delivering consistent, high-quality client service. In particular, the Marketing & Client Development Coordinator will support the Firm’s transactional practice groups in London (and across the EMEA offices, as needed) with a specific focus on our global finance and financial restructuring groups and a number of complementary ongoing global projects/initiatives.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

The Marketing & Client Development Coordinator must be able to interact at all levels of the Firm. While most of the day-to-day interaction will be with the Marketing Department and members of other administrative departments within the Firm, this individual will also have regular interaction with attorneys. This position is delivery oriented and supports and executes the marketing, business development and communication efforts of the Firm’s transactional practice groups, with a focus on global finance and financial restructuring.

Business Development:

Supports the implementation of practice group plans and business development activities beyond pitches, such as client targeting.

Conducts various research projects used for business development efforts, including company and industry research, pursuit lists, and competitive intelligence in an effort to exploit market differentiation.

Working together with line manager, helps to coordinate the day-to-day activities of client teams (key account management).

Working with relevant attorneys, supports the relevant industry body memberships to maximise profile and return on investment.

Pitches and Presentations:

Independently produces routine pitches, presentations and responses to RFPs from existing formats and handles related tracking of activities with minimal supervision.

Credentials and Bios:

Updates and maintain credentials and assists in the creation of new credentials, as appropriate

Updates and maintains experience and supports full integration and adoption of firmwide experience database. Maintains experience lists for practice group and relevant product lines.

Updates and maintains attorney bios and rankings on the website and internal systems.

Client Communications/Collateral:

Coordinates the implementation of client communications including legal updates (Dechert OnPoint), announcements, newsletters, marquee thought leadership campaigns and leads on specific but straightforward thought leadership projects.

Working closely with the web team, assists with general website maintenance/updating as appropriate.

Working closely with the Firm’s digital team, assists with social media communications via LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, as appropriate.

Working closely with the PR team and line manager, supports PR activities to build profile and raise visibility of the relevant practice area, product lines, offices and individual lawyers within their target markets.

Oversees printing, distribution and storage of collateral.

Legal Directories/Practice Specific Awards:

Assists and coordinates legal directory submissions (Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR etc.), together with line manager

Assists with specific ad hoc awards submissions.

Seminars and Events:

Coordination of seminars/webinars, conference sponsorships, exhibitions, and other events, including arranging logistics, invitations, materials, and hospitality; assists with follow-up activities, working independently or alongside other members of the client development and events team.

Data/Infrastructure:

Working with the marketing operations team, collects and enters data into internal marketing databases/reports, including Pitch & Proposal Database, Business Development Opportunities Report, CRM, email marketing etc. including supporting with CRM database reporting and contact research.

Updates/ maintains mailing lists via CRM.

Other:

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Contributes to achievement of team goals and promotes teamwork.

Supports other global marketing and client development initiatives that are aligned with the firm’s strategy and the marketing department goals.

Business understanding – willingness to develop specialised knowledge/skills in relevant practice area/s and product lines as well as firm strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs :

Bachelor’s degree.

3+ years of experience in a marketing role.

Law firm or other professional service experience is a plus.

Excellent project management, organisational and planning skills.

Ability to prioritise multiple projects, meet deadlines and coordinate own work.

Understanding of the marketing functions, needs and expectations of attorneys and clients.

Effective writing skills.

Proficient with Microsoft office; Interaction is a plus.

Detail-oriented and organised.

Good interpersonal skills; polite, professional, positive manner.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to function in a collaborative organisation and be a team player.
