Job summary

To plan and manage the implementation of individual care programmes for patients in the perioperative period as part of the Theatre team. To guide, instruct and monitor junior staff, students and support staff. Following a period of support and training the practitioner will deputise for the team leader. To practice in accordance with Professional Codes, and statutory requirements The post holder will be expected to meet objectives set out during Personal Development Review in line with the KSF outlines. To work flexibly within any area of the Trust as directed by the Matron/Sister to provide support according to service needs

We require a professional, flexible, motivated and committed person who is capable of working in a team and delivering high quality, patient-focused care within a busy, progressive and varied department. The post holder will be based within the Gynaecology and Obstetric Theatres and will work as a member of the scrub team, full training will be given to the right candidate.

We have 2 Gynaecology theatres and 1 Obstetric theatre within the department and cover the emergency Obstetric service 24 hours a day. We also staff breast surgery lists within the department.

We work closely with other members of the Multi-disciplinary team in theatre and the wider Hospital, to provide safe and effective care to the patients within these specialities. There is a strong emphasis on team work and we pride ourselves on the standards we maintain within the unit.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
