Reporting into our Finance Director, our Financial Controller will take ownership of audit and statutory reporting, month end, development of systems and process and will oversee transactional areas of finance. The Role 

Your daily to-dos might look like this:

  • Lead and oversee the financial control and accounting function, managing a team of 5 including 2 direct reports
  • Working closely with the FP&A team to deliver timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting to the business
  • Ownership of month end process and production of the management accounts pack with value add commentary and supporting analysis
  • Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for monthly balance sheet and cashflow reporting
  • Providing clear and accurate view of cash flow and working capital requirements through 13 week cashflow and longer range forecasting
  • Lead annual audit process working closely with external advisors
  • Consolidation and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ownership of key processes including transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, VAT/GST payments, payroll
  • Ownership of financial controls and processes, continually striving for best practice
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of reporting in Netsuite, working closely with our Operations and Tech teams.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies and procedures

Requirements

These skills will help you go far in this role:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA preferred) with previous experience in a Finance Controller role
  • Experience working in a fast paced and agile environment
  • Experience in retail/FMCG highly desirable (inventory reporting; multi channel), ideally through a scale-up period
  • A strong people manager with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to identify the need for and drive change
  • Experience working with Netsuite highly desirable
  • Experience of systems development and processes
