Job summary

Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Consultant in HIV & Sexual Health at Doncaster. This is a Ful-time/Part Time/Flexible post with a salary of £93,666 to£126,281 depending on experience.

Role Summary 

The appointee will be the Lead Consultant responsible for the provision of HIV and Sexual Health Services providing clinical leadership and clinical supervision in relation to HIV.

It is envisaged that the post holder main duties will be to undertake STI and HIV clinics. Knowledge and experience of delivering Contraception LARC clinics would be considered within the Job Plan.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support and develop the Sexual Health Service in Doncaster.

The post holder will share clinical responsibilities with professional colleagues and will actively contribute to the governance arrangements of the department.

The post holder will be encouraged to contribute to research and training activities.

The appointee will be expected to work with clinical colleagues supported by local managers in providing a safe, efficient and effective service for Solutions 4 Health. 

He/she will also be expected to support the development of additional services in community settings to ensure that patient safety, confidentiality, and effective clinical governance are maintained and to help develop appropriate clinical pathways.

The person appointed will take his/her equal share in providing cover for colleagues during periods of absence.

The Post holder will share responsibility for the training and supervision of departmental junior clinical staff. He/she may also have educational supervision roles for specific individual trainees. The appointee will be expected to take an active part in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching.

He/she will be expected to guide/carry out audit projects. Participation in departmental research projects will be expected.

The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.

Required Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a MRCP (UK) Or Equivalent and a Full Registration with GMC and name on Specialist Register (HIV) or expected within 6 months of the date of interview. 

If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.

Qualifications

Essential

Full and Specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview. Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview.
