Information About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Higher Analyst  to join the Fast Parcels Targeting Assessment Centre (FPTAC) as part of the Counter Terrorism Policing – Borders South team. This role requires you to utilise information and intelligence to inform and influence the operational planning and decision making of the Unit. You will also inform and direct FPTAC police activity, strategic and tactical, against terrorism and extremism and enable the effective allocation of resources through timely analysis.

Responsibilities

As a Higher Analyst you will be responsible for directly managing a team of national analysts and researchers. You will support the CTPBS South Senior Analyst in developing a team to meet the strategic objectives. You will lead on strategic analytical reports in relation to identifying risk and threat to the region, jointly gathering and prioritising intelligence to link the overall threat picture to national, regional, and local priorities.

The must haves:

Educated to degree level, or possess an appropriate professional qualification, or have significant proven relevant experience. Substantial role-related experience as an Analyst in a law enforcement or similar intelligence environment. Experience of research & analysis of complex information.

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.

Security Requirements

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past  10 years . Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government) and studying abroad. You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.

Please note that although the working location is fixed at East Midlands Airport, this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving license.
