Class 1 Driver - Days

Class 1 LGV Day Drivers. Enjoy the drive

At DHL eCommerce, we give our Class 1 Drivers everythingthey need to enjoy the drive.

* A lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, allless than 4 years old. They’re a joy to drive, and are equipped to a highspecification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extrasto make sure you’re comfortable.

* Strong work/life balance -most of our sites run fromMonday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9 hour shifts per day whichtypically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you oftenknow in advance where you’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

The job in a nutshell

We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get thejob done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4to 6, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’ll still be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift. You’ll:

* Make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks getto and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded orunloaded for you - at others, you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanningconsignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

* Inspect your vehicle and trailer every day, and complete aDefect Report if necessary

* Make sure everything is ‘right first time’ for yourcustomers, both internal and external. A great communicator, you’ll work hardto keep customers happy, making sure any queries you can’t answer are passed onto your site manager quickly.

What you’ll need to join us

* Class 1 Driving licence

* Driver CPC qualification card

* Completed required DCPC training hours or be workingtowards them* Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws - and commitment tosafe use of the road

* A ‘can do’ attitude
