Do you have experience working with children who have difficulties regulating their emotions and behaviour? Are you passionate about supporting these children during their Primary School journey? This role may be for you
We are seeking a Behaviour Buddies who will work in a mainstream school setting, supporting children with behaviour difficulties. You will need to build a relationship with the children and encourage them to make the right choices to help them achieve.
- Hours: Full-time 8:30am – 15:30pm
- Pay: £12.90 - £13.50
- KS1/KS2
- Location: Todmorden
Responsibilities:
- An excellent understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) in children.
- Develop strategies to support the needs of the children.
- Support a child 1:1, focusing on their behaviour and following a behaviour plan.
- Deliver small group intervention sessions, focusing on SEMH and building relationships.
- Work collaboratively with parents, Class Teachers and SENCO.
- Support children with their learning, providing them with strategies to self-calm and regulate their emotions.
- Promote inclusion in the classroom and outside the classroom.
- Engage pupils on a level to gain respect and trust.
- Encourage children to work cooperatively with peers and Class Teachers.
Requirements:
- It is essential you have experience working with children who have behaviour difficulties.
- A good understanding of the KS1 or KS2 curriculum.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent Safeguarding knowledge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
