We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team based in Blandford. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating materials, equipment, and services necessary for the operations of our client's business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market trends, supply chain management, and cost-effective purchasing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure the best possible pricing and quality.
  • Analyse market trends and inventory levels to predict product demand and determine inventory needs.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to contract terms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as production, logistics, and finance, to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with overall business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimise costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, shipments, or invoices in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities.
  • Conduct regular reviews and analysis of supplier performance and market conditions to inform purchasing decisions.

Qualifications:

  • 1 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
