Job Purpose

Formal training provided towards a professional accounting qualification, whilst gaining an understanding of the commercial and technical processes of the UK business, methods and processes of the Newport Factory, specialising in the accounting and controlling area. Supporting the finance team to maintain and provide financial information to support cost management within the business, whilst also maintaining all accounting functions so that financial transactions, policies, systems and procedures meet the organisations business objectives and comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Formal training towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions

• Assist with month-end, quarterly and year-end closing procedures

• Preparing plant monthly financial results in accordance with company rules

• Assist with preparation of plant monthly forecast

• Assist with preparation of plant annual budget in line with company’s strategy

• Support with maintaining systems and controls over inventory and plant fixed assets

• Support with maintenance of accurate and reliable product costing process

• Provide support to the finance team as needed

• Striving for continuous improvement within the finance function

• Other ad hoc support as required

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
