This expanded service will be working across the integrated pathway from acute to intermediate care services in the community, supporting patients with the care and rehabilitation they need, improving clinical outcomes and patient experience. Job description

Job responsibilities

To be an experienced physiotherapist responsible for providing assessment, treatment, re-evaluation, advice and equipment for patients, carers and other professionals.

To work as an autonomous professional according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Rules of Professional conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) regulations, working without the need for direct supervision, access to advice and support from a more senior physiotherapist is available if required, but work is not routinely evaluated.

Flexibility in working hours and patterns, including weekends.

Participation with respiratory on-call services..

Voluntary participation within other out of hours physiotherapy services orthopaedics

To work collaboratively with all healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated service that meets the individual patient need.

To supervise, educate and be involved in the appraisal of band 5 Physiotherapists, Therapy and Physiotherapy assistants and under graduates.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

A BSc in Physiotherapy/post grad MSc Physiotherapy Health Professions Council Registered Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field

Desirable

Post graduate qualifications in a relevant topic

Experience

Essential

Full range of undergraduate placements Post- graduate experience within an acute hospital environment Experience of supporting other staff/ assistants

Desirable

Experience as a band 6 physiotherapist Experience within ITU/ Critical Care Completion of core rotations (including orthopaedics, MSK, neurology and respiratory)

Skills

Essential

Confident with core physiotherapy skills Will have the ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and intervention incorporating manual physiotherapy Experience supervising assistants and students
