Manchester, United Kingdom AtkinsRéalis Full time

Job Description

Senior Communication and Engagement Consultant ( Flexible across locations in UK)

AtkinsRéalis member of the AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancy firms offering unparalleled opportunities for talented individuals in search of a rewarding career.

Our UK team of project communication, engagement and consultation consultants is looking for a senior/principal consultant. The job would be based in Manchester, UK and suit someone with relevant years of experience in this specialist field.

The team works hand-in-hand with AtkinsRéalis technical specialists across the UK to tell the story of our projects and give communities and stakeholders a chance to shape our plans, bringing them into the design process of the infrastructure and development projects that affect them. Current and recent clients include National Highways, Environment Agency, Homes England, Network Rail, local authorities, water and energy companies and commercial organisations.

Read more about how you can thrive with us: Equality, diversity & inclusion in the UK & Europe (atkinsrealis.com)

Responsibilities:

You will need to be able to:

Identify our project stakeholders and develop a plan to build relationships, communicate, consult and collaborate with them. Work with our graphics and visualisation team and technical specialists, to develop communications content, from printed brochures to interactive 3D visualisations. Plan and run events to engage with communities and organisations, such as webinars, workshops and exhibitions in local venues. Plan and run large public consultations. Collate and analyse feedback received from the public, to inform the ongoing development of our projects and report back on our findings. Play an active part in business development for the team – including network building, identification of opportunities, bidding, client presentations. Manage projects and budgets – both standalone and as specialist team leader in multi-discipline teams.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about making the world a better place and ensuring communities have a real say in shaping our projects. Proactive and confident, a team player but also able to work independently. Creative and a strategic thinker. A finisher, paying meticulous attention to detail and understanding that there are boring bits too. Able to write copy to a professional standard, including explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Comfortable with multi-tasking and change. Degree qualified and with appropriate experience for the role. Excited by the prospect of learning, growing and going through the many doors AtkinsRéalis offers. Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and business development skills.

What we offer?

AtkinsRéalis recognise that there are many well qualified people who are looking to further their career, but who cannot commit to full time employment. We support flexible working arrangements and are interested to discuss how we can accommodate individual requirements. As part of this commitment, we understand the need for a diverse and flexible workforce, where a work-life balance is important. So, by default AtkinsRéalis offers flexible working, where there is no fixed 9 ‘till 5, no need for a 5-day week, no requirement for a full-time contract, and no requirement to spend all your working time in the office.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

New name, new era. We are AtkinsRéalis. It will take some time for all our information to update – you can still refer to our fantastic benefits via the link below:

We also actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer. If applying to this role please do not make reference to (in conversation) or include in your application or CV, details of any current or previously held security clearance.
