Process Engineer

Olleco is on a mission to protect the planet by working together with thousands of food service businesses to ensure that greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by hundreds and thousands of tonnes. We are now looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to work as part of our Anaerobic Digestion team and help us to continue to do things the right way.

In this position you will play a fundamental role providing operational support for troubleshooting plant issues, identifying root causes and complete development projects to improve plant safety and increase plant capacity. This role will be based at either our Aston Clinton AD Plant or Westcott Venture Park AD Plant.

A little more about the role:

- Provide engineering support and lead projects to provide long term solutions to improve plant safety and increase plant capacity
- Lead plant development trials as required
- Trouble shooting plant issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
- Developing plant procedures and working with SHEQ teams to embed safe and compliant practices
- Track plant lost production and Pareto the leading issues each month
- Support the training of new operators
- Support and attend site audits with Environment Agency, HSE, Animal Heath. Work with SHEQ team to prepare all required documentation ahead of planned visits and audits.
- 40 hours per week Mon Fri day shifts.


We will be looking for:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering or related discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- The individual should preferably be a Chartered Chemical Engineer or working towards this status
- Strong understanding of process safety (ideally supported by IChemE Fundamentals of Process Safety or NEBOSH Process Safety Management course attendance)
- IT proficient with experience in the use of industry standard software, such as Microsoft Windows and Office suite of programmes. Experience of relevant specialist software (e.g.CFD, modelling, or specialist calculation software) may be an advantage
