Responsibilities when supporting SEN / SEMH:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs within the classroom setting.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement education plans and behaviour plans.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting emotional well-being and social development.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to relevant parties.
- Assist in interventions, utilising school facilities such as sensory integration rooms, sports equipment and therapeutic settings to re-integrate children back into the classroom.
- Work closely with external agencies, parents, and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Required to work with SEN / SEMH / LD:
- Relevant qualifications in education, Sports, Psychology, Performing Arts etc.
- Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, Behaviour Support, Sports Coaches all welcomed.
- Team Teach training or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs, including Autism, Complex care, MLD, PMLD.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions including de-escalation tactics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting students with EHCP’s is desirable.
