Job overview
We are a busy outpatient department, with many different multi-disciplinary clinics running. We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking person who relish's in providing person centred support and care to our patients. To be supportive to the departmental team in a busy working department.
We are the start of patients planned elective surgery and work towards safe surgery and demonstrate compassion throughout their journey within the Pre-Operative department here at Wrightington Hospital.
Candidates will be required to produce original certificates of qualifications at interview stage.
Must have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
Main duties of the job
Elective Surgical Pre-Op pathway adhering to NICE Elective guidelines and trust policies.
Performing ECGs, Venepunture, Vitalograph & recording digitally the results. Assisting colleagues from all disciplines with good communication skills and team ethos. Act as an advocate for the patients, with reassurance. Participate in maintaining department audits. Keeping up to date with trust mandatory training. Ordering of stock when needed. Maintaining professionalism and willingness to develop with new initiatives in the department.You will need excellent communication & documentation skills on the trusts digital platform.

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assist the wider Pre-operative team in clinic sessions
To obtain Pre-operative tests to promote a safe patient journey prior to Elective surgery.
To document clear and concise information on hospital IT systems.
To maintain respect, dignity & confidentiality at all times with patients & colleagues
To order stock for the department
To participate in audits when required
To maintain good housekeeping
